    Oromiaball is a regionball, and a separatist regionball in the center of  Ethiopiaball.

    History

    Oromiaball had a long history during the times of the The Ethiopian Empire. Sadly, they were forced to convert to different religions due to the persecution of religion of people who were Muslims during the time period. They were also the main primary victim of slavery until the reign of Haile Selassie (who banned slavery) due to their darker skin tone from other Ethiopians such as Habeshas and Tigrinyas. Oromiaball is the biggest and the most populated region of Ethiopiaball. They like freedom, and protest for it a lot. Ethiopiaball doesn't like this too much, and the protests can get violent.

    Early times

    Initially, completely different nationalities lived on the clay that is now occupied by Oromoball, and these territories belonged to the Ethiopian Empire and Adalball. Everything changed in the middle of the 16th century, when, after the bloody Hadalo-Ethiopian war, both countries were weakened and greatly depleted - then Oromoball began to move there en masse from the south, expelling local residents from the settlements and establishing their own rules there. As a result, many countries belonging to settlers were formed on the territory of the modern province.

    The subsequent routine of Abyssiniaball apparently consisted of eternal wars between a bunch of state entities on its territory, but there is practically no information about this, and it would be boring and uninteresting to talk about every movement, happened over the next 300 years. The territory of this clay was first remembered by Ethiopian Empireball at the end of the 19th century decided to undertake a campaign against Oromoball in the second half of the 19th century. Beginning in 1881, the Ethiopians carried out several campaigns on enemy clay, the first of which were unsuccessful due to fierce resistance from their opponents. Finally, in 1886, they submitted to the empire using modern European firearms.

    Oromia in the 20th century

    This is how the Oromians lived as part of Ethiopia, subsequently suffering oppression from the Christian population of the state Amharaball - and passively supporting certain movements for the expansion of their rights residents. By the mid-20th century, the Oromo language was banned from educational institutions and administrative bodies, and its speakers in general were often subjected to ridicule and bullying, while the Amhara culture dominated all walks of life. In 1967, the Ethiopian Empire declared the Mehi-Tulama Self-Help Association, a social movement of the Oromo people, illegal, and subsequently arrested and executed many of its members. This led to serious discontent among the Oromo people, who in 1973 formed the region's independence-fighting Oromo Liberation Front (OLF).

    Dergball who came to power in 1974, although he granted some rights to representatives for Oromiaball, generally continued the policies of his predecessor. State elites believed that the self-identity of the small peoples of the country prevented the formation of a unified Ethiopian identity, so this must be combated in every possible way. In fact, the Oromo language continued to be banned in schools and public places, and as part of a campaign to combat drought in northern Ethiopia, many Amharas were even resettled in Oromia. Another blow from the socialist government came during the land reform, when residents began to be forcibly resettled to other villages.

    Civil War

    However, time passed, a bloody civil war broke out in the country, and in 1987 Dergball was replaced by a full-fledged People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopiaball. However, she was no longer able to stay in power and by the early 1990s she began to completely lose control over the country. The OLF realized that it had to act to achieve the cherished independence and tried to come to terms with the other two major forces in the state - Eritrea People's Liberation Front (EPLF) and Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF). However, the negotiations failed, and relations between the two leading revolutionary forces in the country deteriorated to the extreme. Then the Tigrayans decided to create the Oromo People's Democratic Organization (OPDO) to replace their rivals OLF, and joined it to EPRDF. On May 28, 1991, separatist forces managed to completely seize power in Ethiopia, at which time a transitional government was created in which OLF and OPDP promised to work together. However, this was simply impossible, because the OLF considered the ODP as a kind of ploy by the EPRDF to limit its influence, and was very opposed to this. In 1992, the Oromo Liberation Front announced its withdrawal from the transitional government due to the "persecution and killing" of its members, which was met with mass destruction of Oromian camps by the Revolutionary Democratic Front. Despite the OLF's initial victories, they were eventually defeated by the EPRDF, which had superior forces and more modern weapons, and were forced to engage in guerrilla warfare. However, by the end of the 1990s, everything had completely calmed down, and the leaders of the Oromo Liberation Front scattered abroad, running away from defeat in Ethiopia. All the clay they occupied was under the control of the EPRDF.

    In modern Ethiopia

    At the beginning of 1995, a new constitution of Ethiopiaball was adopted, which proclaimed the creation of the current Oromia Regionball. He occupied the clay of the former provinces of Arsiball, Baleball, Illubaborball, Kafaball, Shoaball and Sidamoball. The capital was declared the city of Addis Abababall, which was also the capital of Ethiopiaball. However, already in 2000, all Oromian administrative bodies were moved to the small town of Adamaball, which, in general, caused serious protests among the population of the region. In 2005, the ODP, part of the ruling EPRDF coalition, officially announced plans to move the provincial capital back to Addis Abababall, but this did not bring any results.

    A new wave of discontent swept across the region in 2014, when a master plan was presented to expand the borders of Addis Abababall by 1.1 million hectares deep into the Oromia territories. Local residents began to protest, claiming that such plans were a violation of the 1995 constitution and therefore completely illegal. Ethiopian authorities decided to harshly suppress the rioters by shooting and turning off the Internet in many parts of the region, but this did not really help: the demonstration soon took on a national character, and also swept into neighboring Amharaball, dissatisfied with the TPLF being in power in the country. As a result, Addis Abababall's controversial clay expansion plan was canceled and the Ethiopian government was forced to resign.

    Thankfully, they have received more rights during the communist regime and modern times, but they are still persecuted in many ways, especially when they migrate towards Saudi Arabiaball or ask for more political power in Ethiopiaball. The ruling circles only strengthened this inequality over time.

    In 2019, in Addis Abababall, for the first time after 150 years of ban, the national Oromian festival Irrecha was held - before that, all attempts to organize it ended in failure and led to many casualties among the civilian population.
