The Ottoman Civil War was a war of succession from 1509-13, which was during the reign of Bayezid the Second. The war was fought between two sons, Ahmed, and Selim. It was located in Ottoman Empireball.
The Military Conflict
In 1509, Ahmed, one of the two claimers for the throne, won a battle against the Karaman Turks, somewhere in Asia Minor, so Ahmed marched on the Constantinopleball to exploit his triumph, a military hero. In 1511 Selim, he was fearing for his safety, so he was selfish, he staged a revolt in Thrace, but he was defeated by Bayzeid, and was forced to flee/exiled to the Crimean Peninsula, that was somewhere in 1511. At that time, Bayezid was feared that Ahmed might kill him to gain the throne, so he didn't let Ahmed in Constantinopleball.
In 1512, Selim escaped Crimea and returned, with support from the Janissaries, which was Ottoman's bodyguards to protect the person whoever is in throne. So they defeated and killed Ahmed, Bayzeid the Second abdicated the throne on the 25th of April, 1512. So Selim was now the leader of the Ottoman Empireball. So Bayzeid departed to his retirement home in Demotika, but he died along the way, he was buried in the Bayzeid Mosque in Constantinopleball.
