The Franco-Prussian War or Franco-German War was a conflict between the Second French Empireball and the North German Confederationball led by the Kingdom of Prussiaball. The conflict was caused by Prussian ambitions to extend German unification and French fears of the shift in the European balance of power that would result if the Prussians succeeded.

France was the main opponent of Prussia. The debate of the Spanish Monarchy angered the French. France did not want a Hohenzollern into the Spanish throne as it would undermine French influence of Europe. Bismarck published Napoleon III pleas for peace and used it to mock the French people. This led to war which ultimately saw Napoleon III humiliation at Alsace-Lorraine. France surrenders, and French Parisians go nuts. In 1871 Paris surrenders and Otto Van Bismarck uses the Versailles palace to give Wilhelm I the best gift ever. The Deutsches Kaiserreich. Gracious German victors’ parade through Versailles. Bismarck anschlusses Alsace-Lorraine and relationships between France and Germany go very sour. Prussia becomes the most powerful German state that uses military affairs to dominate its nation. Prussia challenges Europe through violence.
