The Small Magellanic Cloudblob is a dwarf spiral satellite galaxy of the Milky Wayspiral. At about 200,000 light-years away, they are one of the closest galaxies to the Milky Wayspiral. Like its larger sibling, SMCblob is visible to the naked eye, as long as the observer is in Earthball's Southern Hemisphere.

SMCblob has a bar structure that was likely disrupted by Milky Wayspiral, indicating that it was once a barred spiral. There is a bridge of gas connecting SMCblob to LMCspiral, indicating that both Magellanic Clouds were gravitationally bound. The bridge also can into star formation.

In 2023, scientists discovered that SMCblob is actually two galaxies, which are 5,000 parsecs apart. The smaller one was nicknamed the Mini Magellanic Cloud (MMC).
