The Siege of Madrid was a two year long siege where the forces of Francoist Spainball laid siege to Madridball during the Spanish Civil War. The siege began in 1936 during the initial coup, but it failed and the assault was repelled by Second Spanish Republicball and his allies in the International Brigades. The siege continued for another two and a half years and ended in March of 1939 with the city falling to Francoist Spainball and the end the civil war.
