Lvivball (Ukrainian: Львів, Polish: Lwówpiłka) is the largest cityball in western  Ukraineball and is the seventh-largest cityball in Ukraineball overall. Lvivball is the chief-town of Lviv Oblastball.

History

Lvivball was a 2ball, originally belonging to Kingdom of Galicia–Volhyniaball, of which it was the capital to 1264. In 1349,  Kingdom of Polandball anschlussed took Lvivball. Lvivball was under Poland-Lithuaniaball's rule until 1772.

Then it fell under the rule of Habsburg Austriaball and susequently, Austria-Hungaryball. Briefly in 1918, Lvivball was the capital of West Ukrainian People's Republicball, but the countryball did not last long and it was anschlussed under Second Polish Republicball's control from 1919 to 1939. Since 1939, Lvivball is Ukrainian again.

After WW2, most of the Poles were forced to move to Polandball's western territories and cityballs such as Wroclawball. Now less than 1% of population of Lvivball is actually Polish.

It was one of the 8 cityballs that hosted Euro 2012.

In the Russia-Ukraine War of 2022, Lvivball suffered Russian bombing and is where some Ukrainian refugees take refuge.

Trivia

Lvivball's former (Polish) name is Królewskie Stołeczne Miasto Lwówpiłka (Royal Capital City of Lvivball).

During the Austrian rule, it was called Lembergball.
