Bendigoball is a city in Victoriaball, Australiaball, located near the geographical centre of the state and approximately 150 kilometres ( 93 miles) north-west of Melbourneball, the state capital.

    History

    Early History (???? - 1930)

Australian Aborigines inhabited the area of what is now Bendigoball for several thousand years before the start of Britishball settlement in 1837. During this time, Bendigoball was nothing more than a general area where squatters would reside.

    Gold Rush

In 1851, gold was discovered along the banks of Bendigo Creek. This caused tens of thousands of settlers to rush into the area of Bendigoball to strike it rich. Bendigoball would be established as a formal settlement later in the year. Being declared a city in 1871, Bendigoball would start to see a drop in population because of water shortages and people giving up on gold mining.

    Revitalization (1930 - 1994)

Renewed growth has occurred from the 1930s, as Bendigoball consolidated as a manufacturing and regional service centre, though gold mining still continues to this day.

In 1994, Bendigoball anschlussed many surrounding townships and suburbs and became the City of Greater Bendigo.

    Present Day (1994 - Present)

Bendigoball is currently one of the fastest-growing regional centres in Victoriaball.
