Bokeoball is a provinceball in 
Laosball. It’s name means ‘gem mine’ and was formerly known as ‘Hua Kong’ (head of the Mekong). It is located in the northern part of Laosball, and is located in the Golden Triangle region. It is located on the border with 
Myanmarball and 
Thailandball. The province is named after the sapphire mines at Houay Xay District, on the border with Thailandball. The province was founded in 1983, when it split from Luang Namthaball, another province in Laosball.
