St. John'sball is the capital cityball of Newfoundland and Labradorball, the youngest province in Canadaball. The city is well known for George Street, the bar and entertainment district. However, St. John'sball's biggest claim to fame in recent memory is giving Canadaball its first-ever Olympic champion in men's curling in 2006 when Brad Gushue and his team came from out of nowhere to win the gold medal at the Torino Winter Games held in Italyball. Every school closed early and workplaces came to a standstill to witness the gold medal final, which St. John'sball has often called his proudest moment as a cityball.
