The Somali Civil War is an ongoing internal conflict in the Horn of Africa between integralist Islamics and International forces, as well as Somali governments. Currently the UN is trying to find solutions and stop the conflict. In the meantime, the somali people are scared for pirate attacks daily due to the events of the rise of Al-Shabaab and somali pirates.

    Background

The Somali civil war has a background and history which caused the civil war to strike in the country.

    Ogadenia territorial disputes and betrayal

The Somali civil started from the previous conflict of the Ogaden War. The somali democratic republic tried to fund the rebel groups to take down the communist derg party of ethiopia, especially the ogadenia liberation front. The plan completly backfired and that caused issues of most of the communist parties to cut their ties with the somali democratic republic. The somali democratic quickly changed their political ideoligies from a communist party to a socialist party and started to ally with the west.

Racisum in the Somali democratic republic

The Somali Democratic Republic had ethnic racisum in the country like Aprahead during its existance. This caused sanctions from most of the world including its communist allies.

    The Isaaq genocide

From 1987 to 1989, Siad Barre, the dictator of the Somali democratic republic ordered to massacre 200,000 Isaaqs in Hargeisaball and Burco. The state-sponsored genocide were commited by communist soldiers of Barre's regime who under Barre's approvement massacred and killed innocent people in the Northen region of Somalia. This specific clan genocide was caused because the SNM was fighting to overthrow Siad Barre and establish a just system in Somalia, and the ideaology of the insurgency group (SNM) were created by Isaaqs who ran the movement. This caused ethnic tension and sanctions from the west and the east. Somalia was running out of allies and creating many enimies. The only country that backed Somalia in this time was USAball because Derg was backed up by the Soviet Unionball. The annihalition of those cities (Hargeisa and Burco) were so severe that it was nicknamed "The Dresden of Africa". The USA is partly responsible for causing the Isaaq genocide because of them giving aid and supplies to Siad Barre's goverment.

Ethnical hate against dark skin minorities

Minorities in the Somali Democratic Republic such and Nitolitics and Bantus are hated during this time period, and sadly to this day in Somalia. This was due to colonialisum and racisum across Somalia and steryotypes against bantu people. Bantus were forced to live in the slums of the Somali democratic republic. Somali Bantus never got citizenship and never get to be considered real Somalis, despite living in Somalia. Although there was never a massacure against bantus specifically, however they were never granted citizenship and treated like animals in the country, always forced to be maids or slaves of the pure blooded "Somalis" who were cushitics and lighter-skin and have arabic facial features.

The rise of Al-Shabaab, ICU, Wilayat Al-Somal

As if poverty or famine wasn't enough, terrorist insurgency organisations starts to form in the 2000s. The country already became more war-torn from the civil war. The ICU was an insurgency group formed responding to the invasion of Somalia by Ethiopiaball, many insurgency groups were created to support the ICU, the most relevant being Al-Shabaab; Al-Shabaab was an insurgency group based in Somalia that plead allegiance to Al-Qaeda's leader Osama bin Laden in 2009, They were ignored by Al-Qaeda at the time, However in 2012 bin Laden's succesor Al-Zawahiri the leader of Al-Qaeda approved the Al-Shabaab request and Al-Shabaab became known world-wide as an Al-Qaeda insurgency group in the Horn of Africa then. In 2015 Wilayat Al-Somal was formed pledging allegiance to ISIS's khilafah; Wilayat Al-Somal mostly consists on Al-Shabaab defectors, However it has no relevance in the war nor does it pose any threat to the government, possesing only 200-300 members. These terrorist groups destroyed Somalia's reputation even further and made lives even more miserable for innocent citizens. Many refuges came to flood in Saudi Arabiaball, Italyball or Swedenball. With all the tensions and issues with Somalia, its about to reach its breaking point.

    Tensions with the USA

When the Soveit Union fell in 1991, Dergball became a more democratic country and followed western society and followed a goverment simular to the USA. This made relations between the USA and Ethiopia a lot more stable. Unfortunatly we cannot say the same with somalia, due to its issues with most of the world, and still being a communist state. President Bill Clinton had enough of this, and decided to declare war on Somalia. The Somali democratic Republic dictoator Siad barre saw this as a traitor move. So tensions between the two countries seems to rise a lot more.

    NATO bombings

In 1991, with the help of NATO, Bill Clinton decided to bomb the Somali democratic republic. All hell breaks lose that day. Thousands of once beautiful arabic, and turkish buildings were completly destroyed. Hotels, Embassadies, Resturants and more completly destroyed by the bombs from the war. His "Humanaitary missions" completly ruined the country. Somali pirate gangs form and terrorize lives. Millions of Somalis are left without homes. USA intervention had completly broke the already unstable country and made it to a complete s**t hole like. Somalia was the first military intervention that the USA offically made. Soon the USA will make military interventions to Sudanball, Syriaball, Iraqball and Libyaball

    How is Somalia doing Currently?

Somalia is currently still in a civil war and in anarchy, however, the country is slowly improving and their economy is getting back into the correct guidence. Somalia will soon become a better place to live and become rich as it once was and have a more democratic goverment without dictatorships. However, during the anarchist goverment, there were a lot more crazy law changes. For example, like Libyaball, slavery in Somalia was legalized again by Somali pirates. The main victums of slavery are Somali bantus who gets kidnapped by them. The African Union are trying to arrest those pirates and try to make Somalia a much safer place to live.

    Help from the UN

The UNball is funding UNICEF and other organizations such as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees or the UNSOM to help refuges escape the war torn country and have better lives in europe and the western world. The UN is currently working to make elections and peace within the country and making a stable goverment and democratic country for all the 15 million somalis to live in a safe country.

Support from the Arab League and the African Union

The Arab League is countinuly supporting Somalia by giving aid supplies for the newcoming somali goverment to run its country. Although NATO have bombed the Arab Leagueball basement located in Mogadishuball, however they are currently trying to rebuild it.

The African Union is currently hunting down and sending military interventions to track down somali pirates and arrest them as a punishment for their crimes. The african Union is currently also trying to support the newcoming democratic somali goverment like the UN and the arab League.
