History
Napoleonic Spain was the part of Spain which pledged allegiance to the First French Empire in the Peninsular War, it was partially occupied by French forces. Emperor Napoleon I put his older brother, Joseph I, onto the throne of Spain. The Kingdom had a pretty troubled existence as it was full of corruption, incompetence and civil war.
