Maukhariball was a stronk Indian royal dynastyball.

History

The origin of the Maukharis is very obscure. The first king mentioned in the known Maukhari records is Hari-Varma, probably the founder. They at first maintained friendly relations with Later Guptaball, even related matrimonially.

King Isvara-Varman was the first prominent Maukhari ruler. His son Isana-Varman aggressively expanded the kingdom, souring their relations with Later Guptaball. Later Guptaball's king defeated Isana-Varman, but could not completely annex his kingdom. Isana-Varman's eldest son and successor Sharva-Varman defeated Later Guptaball badly, annexing their core area of Magadhaball.

Relations with Sassanidsball

With the end of Hephthalite Empireball's rule in Indiaball, new contacts were established between Indiaball and the Sasanian Empireball. Intellectual games such as chess and backgammon demonstrated and celebrated the diplomatic relationship between Khosrow I and a "great king of India", who was probably Sarva-Varman.

Sarva-Varman sent Khosrow I a riddle on how to play chess, which his grand wazir (vizier) solved and sent anther riddle to Sarva-Varman on how to play backgammon (a game he created) in response. Sarva-Varman could not solve the riddle and was forced to pay tribute.

Graha-Varman, the last Maukhari ruler, married Rajyashri, the daughter of the ruler of Thanesar, File:Pushyabhuti-icon.png Prabhakar Vardhana. It was an alliance between the two against Later Guptaball.

Shashanka, the king of Gauda Kingdomball, feared the increasing power of Maukhariball and File:Pushyabhuti-icon.png Vardhanaball. He retaliated by allying with the Later Guptaball and their combined forces appear to have launched a successful surprise attack on Maukhariball's capital at Kannaujball. Graha-Varman was killed and his wife Rajyashri captured, which caused her brother Rajyavardhana, now king of Thanesar to retaliate in turn.

Rajyavardhana was successful, then marching towards Kannaujball, but was killed under mysterious circumstances on the way.

Successors

Harsha, Rajyavardhana's brother succeeded him as ruler of Thanesar, who would go on to conquer almost all of North India and make Kannaujball his capital. His sister Rajyashri had no children, so the Maukhari bloodline died out. Hence the kingdoms of Thanesar and Kannauj were united under him.

• Later Guptaball- We had good relations at first but I soured them under my king Isana-Varman tee-hee-hee. He defeated me but I defeated him very badly later on under Sharva-Varman. He allied with Gauda Kingdomball!!! He also stole mah last ruler's queen Rajyashri, but my best friend got her back from his dirty clutches as she was his daughter.
