Li Wuball or simply Wuball was a short-lived empire declared by agrarian leader Li Zitong (李子通) in Jiangduball during the collapse of Suiball.

At its zenith, Li Wuball controlled roughly all of Zhejiangball and parts of Jiangsuball. In 621, Li Wuball was anschlussed by Tangball.

    History

    Background

Despite Suiball's achievements, its populace grew increasingly restless day by day as Suiball continued to conscript more men into perilous wars against Goguryeoball. Agrarian revolts became so organised and frequent enough, that, by 614, Suiball's forces could not reliably defeat them.[3]

The ineffectiveness of Suiball's army marked the rise of various prominent local warlords, like Li Zitong, Li Wuball's founder and first emperor. Li was born into a poor family in Shandongball. While Li was purportedly benevolent, he was also vengeful.[4]

In 615, Li joined a rebel band led by Zuo Caixiang (左才相) in Southern Shandongball. Half a year later, Li abandoned Zuo and joined a different rebel group led by Du Fuwei (杜伏威). Li plotted to assassinate Du, but failed, and reorganised in Taizhouball (then called Hailingball).[5]

    Establishment

In August of 619, Li attacked Jiangduball. Despite a plea for help from the city's defenders, Jiangduball's planned reinforcements never arrived, due to Li pitting Du Fuwei and Shen Guan (沈綸) against one another. After Li conquered Jiangduball, he proclaimed himself emperor and established Li Wuball.[6][7]

    Heyday

In 620, Li Wuball went South and conquered more clay in Southern Jiangsuball, most notably the city of Nanjingball, forcing Shen Liangball to flee to Zhejiangball.

    Defeat & Abolishment

Later in 620, Li Wuball was invaded by Tangball. Li Wuball was soon defeated by Tangball and forced to retreat South, anschlussing Shen Liangball's clay along the way.

In November of 621, Tangball invaded and anschlussed Li Wuball after capturing Yuhangball. Li Zitong attempted to re-establish Li Wuball in 622, but was caught attempting to escape, and was executed.[8]

    How To Draw

Drawing Li Wuball is very simple.

    1. Draw a black outline of a circle.
    2. Fill it Yellow.
    3. Draw a second white circle inside of the first.
    4. Add the Chinese character for Wu (吳) inside of the white portion. You can also write the characters for Li Wu (李吳) to distinguish Li Wuball from other Wuballs in Chinese History.
