Koch Kingdomball was a minor Hindustani country.

    History

The Koch Kingdom was established by Biswa Singha, who was able to unify different Bodo-Kachari tribal groups under his banner against the the Baro-Bhuyans (confederacies of soldier-landowners) of Assam. Under Biswa Singha's successor Nara Narayan the Koch Kingdom reached its zenith.

He was able to subjugate the entire Brahmaputra valley with the help of his brother and skilled general Chilarai. The kingdoms subjuagted included the File:Ahom Kingdom-icon.png Ahom Kingdomball, Tripura and Manipur Kingdomball, and many others. This influence was halted when the Kochs faced Suleman Karranni of Bengal.

    Decline

The Koch dynasty split into several weaker branches following the death of Nara Narayan in 1586. Koch Bihar survived by becoming a p̶u̶p̶p̶e̶t̶ ̶s̶t̶a̶t̶e̶ vassal of Mughal Empireball, Koch Hajo was came under File:Ahom Kingdom-icon.png Ahom Kingdomball's control and was subsequently incorporated.

Koch Bihar later became a princely state during British rule and was absorbed after Indian independence. The third branch of this dynasty at Khaspur disappeared into the Kachari kingdomball/Dimasa Kingdomball.
