History

Information

Hrazdanball was officially born as a 2ball, but soon was given an identity by Armenian SSRball in 1959. In later years, he was adopted by Sovietball and Armeniaball. He became raionball of Armenian SSRball, and now modern Armeniaball as city.

Modern history

Hrazdanball is among the towns that were founded and developed during the Sovietball. The former village of Akhtaball (or Nerkin Akhtaball) -covering the southern parts of present-day Hrazdanball- was the centre of the Akhta raionball; an administrative territory of the Armenian SSRball formed in 1930. In 1959, The village of Akhtaball was incorporated into an urban-type settlement known as Hrazdanball. Akta raionball was also renamed as Hrazdan raionball.

The original urban development plan of Hrazdanball was introduced in 1961-63 by architects M. Grigoryan and E. Altunyan. Upon the January 12, 1963 decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSRball on the territorial changes in the state, the villages of Vanaturball, Jraratball, Kakavadzorball and Makravanball have been merged within Hrazdanball to become a town of republican subordination. In fact, the town of Hrazdanball was formed through the merger of a group of separate villages and settlements.

In December 1995, Hrazdanball became the centre of the newly formed Kotayk Provinceball.

Twin cityballs

Hrazdanball has no twin cityballs because of founding in 1959.
