Our battlefield is no place for that piece of shit God! I think it's time we took over God's work! Us soldiers will take God's place and put his arrogant ass out of a job!

The German Empire-icon.png German Empireball, or just called the Second Reichball, is actually the countryball that was Reich-icon.png Reichtangle's base and was Germany-icon.png Germanyball from 1871 to 1918. Its glory days started from the Unification of Germany in 1871 to the abdication of November 1918, when it became a weaker Germany-icon.png Federal Republic (Weimar Republicball). It was known for its strong culture, good diplomacy and for being the main antagonist of the First World war. It also used Gas-Weapons, which actually were forbidden.

    History[edit | edit source]

    Unification (1815-1871)[edit | edit source]

HRE-icon.png German Stateballs had been divided for centuries, but it was only after the Enlightenment and French First Republic-icon.png French Revolutions displayed nationalist ideas for the first time, did a sense of Germany-icon.png German nationalism begin to inspire the various HRE-icon.png German stateballs.

Their conquest by Napoleonic-icon.png Napoleonic Franceball in the Napoleonic Wars had reorganized them into 39 stateballs by the time of the Congress of Vienna-icon.png Vienna in 1815, under German Confederation-icon.png German Confederationball to replace the dissolved old HRE-icon.png HREball's rule.

This new German Confederation-icon.png German Confederationball was led by Austrian Empire-icon.png Austrian Empireball and Kingdom of Prussia-icon.png Prussiaball, the two strongest states in the Confederation.

However, as time went by Austrian Empire-icon.png Austrian Empireball's influence waned, and Kingdom of Prussia-icon.png Prussiaball's grew steadily. The 1848 liberal revolutions had the effect of boosting Germanic nationalism and a sense of unity, but Kingdom of Prussia-icon.png Prussiaball was too conservative, so he declined the offer of the crown of a liberal unified Germany.

In 1864 Kingdom of Prussia-icon.png Prussiaball and Austrian Empire-icon.png Austrian Empireball attacked Denmark-icon.png Denmarkball for Ukraine-icon.png Schlewsigball and County of Holstein-icon.png Holsteinball, who were about to be annexed into Denmark-icon.png Denmarkball's dominions despite their German ethnicity.

This cooperation was later dissolved in 1866 when Kingdom of Prussia-icon.png Prussiaball with help from Italian-Empire-icon.png Kingdom of Italyball turned on Austrian Empire-icon.png Austrian Empireball and his satellites, forcing it to cede its hegemony over the German stateballs like Kingdom of Hanover-icon.png Hanoverball, who was annexed into the German Empire (no hat)-icon.png North German Confederationball in 1867.

France-icon.png Franceball was becoming alarmed at the new tilt of power, so it made an attempt to intervene in the Austro-Prussian Brothers' War which came too late. Then in 1868 it demanded that First Spanish Republic-icon.png Spainball not accept a German dynasty to rule it. Tensions erupted after German Empire (no hat)-icon.png North German Confederationball published an inflammatory telegram (the Ems dispatch) in 1870, provoking France-icon.png Franceball to declare war.

France-icon.png Franceball was overconfident, and got overrun by the German stateballs' armies and defeated at Sedan and Metz. It was in its Palace of Versailles, in 1871 that the South German stateballs were drawn into the union, and German Empire-icon.png German Empireball was proclaimed there.

Bismarckian era, and Kulturkampf (1871-1890)[edit | edit source]

German Empire-icon.png German Empireball knew it had to keep a delicate balance of power in Europe in order to maintain peace towards its new state, so it signed the League of the Three Emperors (Dreikaiserbund) in 1879. Russian-Empire-icon.png Russiaball and Austria-Hungary-icon.png Austria-Hungaryball now sided with German Empire-icon.png German Empireball, who drew in Italian-Empire-icon.png Italyball into a 'Triple Alliance' in 1882.

Around this time it began a policy of encouraging Protestant-icon.png Protestantism over Catholic-icon.png Catholicism, making it unpopular with the southern German Stateballs like Bavaria-icon (stripe).png Bavariaball, who remained autonomous in monarchial governance. Jew-icon.png Jewcubes in the Reich were also targeted. The policy stifled the growth of democracy in the German Empire-icon.png German Empireball that would lay the foundations for the authoritarian regimes of the next century.

German Empire-icon.png German Empireball also hosted the 1884 Berlin-icon.png Berlin Conference, to divide African clay up amongst the Great Powers, and at a subsequent 1885 Congo Conference voted to give Belgium-icon.png Belgiumball the Congo region. However, in 1888, it had a change of personality and became a brash, saber-rattling brute barburus instead of the suave statesman it was before.

Wilhelmine era; The Arms race and Tensions (1890-1914)[edit | edit source]

France-icon.png Franceball broke out of the quarantine and began to draw closer to British Empire-icon.png British Empireball, culminating in the Entente Cordiale in 1904. This was mainly due to German Empire-icon.png German Empireball's new naval buildups, trying to challenge British Empire-icon.png British Empireball's dominance of the high seas with its fleets.

Its colonial policies caused friction too, with it being able to claim only small pieces of clay. It took Tsingtao from Qing-icon.png Qing Chinaball forcibly, then it purchased some islands from First Spanish Republic-icon.png Spainball in the Pacific, then it was part of the 1900 Expedition in response to the Boxer Rebellion, leading to international outrage from German Empireball's orders to 'take no prisoners', leading to his nickname, 'The Hun'.

When the July Crisis broke out in mid-1914 after Kingdom of Serbia-icon.png Serbiaball shot Austria-Hungary-icon.png Austria-Hungaryball's archduke, German Empire-icon.png German Empireball's support of the ailing Empire saw it come into conflict with Kingdom of Serbia-icon.png Serbiaball's ally Russian-Empire2-icon.png Russian Empireball, and its ally France-icon.png Franceball, beginning World War I.

The Great War (World War I) (1914-1918)[edit | edit source]

Initially, German Empire-icon.png German Empireball used its Schlieffen Plan; to attack France-icon.png Franceball through Belgium-icon.png Belgiumball and Luxembourg-icon.png Luxembourgball, bypassing its fortifications and ending up in Paris-icon.png Parisball, then turning his armies east to fight Russian-Empire-icon2.png Russian Empireball, who would take longer to mobilize fully.
However Belgium-icon.png Belgiumball turned out to be more resistant, and British Empire-icon.png British Empireball intervened on the Entente side. German Empire-icon.png German Empireball managed to get through Belgium-icon.png Belgiumball's clay, occupying most of it. As France-icon.png Franceball withdrew its troops from Alsace-icon.png Alsaceball to fight the German Empire-icon.png German Empireball coming through Belgium-icon.png Belgiumball, British Empire-icon.png British Empireball stepped in at the 1st Battle of Mons to defend the corner of Flanders-icon.png Flandersball still held by the Allies. (Ypres Lives!).

France-icon.png Franceball managed to defeat German Empire-icon.png German Empireball at the Miracle of the Marne, stopping its advance at the gates of Paris-icon.png Parisball. They then raced to the sea, digging entrenched positions along the way, and by November, trenches stretched from Switzerland-icon.png Switzerlandball clay to the North Sea.

By 1916, the stalemate had lasted over a year on the Western Front. The opposing belligerents were evenly matched, with occasional charges made. Their fleets jarred at Jutland. As the massive offensives of Verdun and the Somme, at Passchendale and Cambrai saw tens of thousands of casualties on both sides on France-icon.png French soil, the Allies looked to convince USA-icon.png USAball to join the war.

German Empire-icon.png German Empireball resuming unrestricted submarine warfare and its 1917 Zimmerman Telegram to Mexico-icon.png Mexicoball resulted in USA-icon.png USAball declaring war on it.

At the same time, the exhausted Russian-Empire-icon2.png Russian Empireball had a revolution. German Empire-icon.png German Empireball infected it with communism, resulting in a civil war, and Russian SFSR (old)-icon.png Russian SFSRball's signing of the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk in 1918, giving German Empire-icon.png German Empireball tons of new clay and puppet stateballs in the East.

By spring 1918, German Empire-icon.png German Empireball was also exhausted, and the Allied blockade affected the flow of supplies unilaterally. It was now a race to deploy its forces in the East westward before USA-icon.png USAball could arrive in full force. It made several great pushes that spring, but they ultimately broke down due to supply overstretch before Amiens.

When USA-icon.png USAball arrived, the Allies pushed back relentlessly, breaking through German Empire-icon.png German Empireball's defensive line. Its allies collapsed throughout the next few months, German Empire-icon.png German Empireball was forced to sue for peace, ending the Great War.

A month before its surrender, an uprising happened known as Germany-icon.png German Revolution of 1918-1919. The German Empire-icon.png Kaiser abdicated, fleeing to the Netherlands-icon.png Netherlandsball's clay, and its sibling Germany-icon.png Weimar Republicball was forced to pay the price for its sibling's defeat in the war, leading to another Great War some 20 years later.
