    Gangwon-doball (South Korea)


    Gangwon-doball is a province/regionball of South Korea-icon.png South Koreaball. Gangwon-doball has the most mountains in South Koreaball.

    Gangwon-doball's province Pyeongchangball was the host the 2018 Winter Olympics. And planned 2024 winter youth olympics.

    History[edit | edit source]

    Gangwon-doball was one of the Eight Provinces of Joseonball. In 1895,Gangwon-doball split and changed its name to District of Chuncheonball, named after Chuncheonball, and the other half named District of Gangneungball, named after Gangneungball. One year later, It got the name Gangwon-doball back.

    After invadings of Japanese Empireball, Gangwon-doball split in half because of the 38th parallel.

    Finally in 1948, South Koreaball decided to take the southern Gangwon-doball and today's Gangwon-doball was born.

    Northern Gangwon-doball became a part of North Koreaball. Anyways, they are both Gangwon-doball.
