Electorate of Hanoverball was a Holy Roman Imperial electorate.

History

In 1692, the Holy Roman Emperor elevated the Prince of Calenberg to the College of Electors, creating the new Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg. Hanover was a Holy Roman Imperial electorate. It had a Personal Union under UKball since 1714. A reluctant Britain was forced time and again to defend Hanover, the King's German possession.

It was merged into the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphaliaball in 1807, re-established as the Kingdom of Hanoverball in 1814, and the personal union with the British crown lasted until 1837.
