History

The Duchy of Ferraraball was ruled by the House of Este. The first Duke of Ferrara was Borso d'Este.

Alfonso I d'Este took part in the War of the League of Cambrai, thankfully not switching sides like everyone else did, staying loyal to baguette-muncher glorious and stronk renaissance man all throughout the war. Alfonso II was the last Duke of Ferrara. He died heirless and his cousin attempted to anshcluss Ferrara, but Pope annexed it instead.
