History
Colorado Territoryball was established in the mid-1800's mainly due to the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. Also, the Union was very adamant about securing the mineral rich Rocky Mountains for the free states, or later the USA, because they didn't want 
The Confederacy to get any richer. Colorado was then created as a free state for two reasons- one, the 
Missouri Compromise limited any slave state from creating more slave states above the Missouri-
Arkansas border. Secondly, Colorado didn't need slaves. Slaves were mainly used for Agriculture, and though slaves mining for gold could've become another evil business, Slaves could get rich once they found gold, and that's exactly what plantation owners didn't want. Though Colorado Territory ball only lasted for around twenty years, it still played a fundamental role in securing 
Coloradoball's statehood.
