The Carnatic Sultanateball was an early modern era state under the suzerainty of 
Hyderabad Stateball.
History
The Nawab of the Carnatic was established by the 
Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, who in 1692 appointed Zulfikhar Ali Khan as the first Nawab of the Carnatic as a reward for his victory over 
Maratharawr. The Nawabs of Carnatic annexed large potions of areas to their domains, especially Madurai Kingdomball.
Carnatic Wars
The War of the Austrian Succession in Europe had sparked a war in the Indian Subcontinent as well. With the termination of the War of the Austrian Succession in Europe, the First Carnatic War also came to an end. However, proxy war continued in the Indian Subcontinent, which came to be known as the Second Carnatic War.
Muhammad Ali Khan Wallajah, a claimant to the throne of Carnatic, sided with the British. Zie also sided with Nasir Jung, a claimant to the throne of Hyderabad. The French candidates for the thrones of Hyderabad and Carnatic were respectively- Muzaffar Jang in Hyderabad & Chanda Sahib in Carnatic. But the British won, and their candidates were placed on the thrones.
Annexation by 
East India Companyball
The thirteenth Nawab, Ghulam Muhammad Ghouse Khan, died without any children, and the British annexed the Carnatic Nawabdom under the doctrine of lapse. However, Ghouse Khan's uncle Azim Jah was created the first Prince of Arcot in 1867 by Queen Victoria, and was given a tax free-pension in perpetuity.
