Avar Khaganateball, also known as Obriball by Kievan Rusball, Abaroiball, Varchonitaiball or Pseudo-Avarball by Byzantine Empireball and Aparball by Gokturk Khaganateball was a Khaganate in the Pannonian Basin. On Reddit, it is depicted as a 1ball. It supported Slavballs against Byzantiumball. It was Shamanist but later converted to Christianity and got assimilated by Europeans.

It sieged Constantinople with Sassanidsball twice, but failed. It was also the first to country to siege Constantinopleball.

Like the Hunball that came before it, it's origins are disputed and so is it's direct descendant, but it is most associated with Gyula Lászlo’s Avar-Hungarian Continuity Theory and Rouran Khaganateball.

History

Origins

Avarball's origins are disputed, but the first time their name was mentioned was in around 463, were they drove Onogursball from Central Asia, though this mention is disputed.

Some consider that Avarball originated from a confederation near the Aral Sea formed by Uarballs (Varball) and Xioniteballs (Chunniball), some contemporary sources refer Avarball as Varchonitesball.

It is proposed that Avarball originated from Rouran Khaganateball, and another theory connects Avarball with Wuhuanball.

Arrival in Europe

In 557, Avarball sent an embassy to Byzantine Empireball, presumably from the northern Caucasus.

In exchange for gold, Avarball subjugated various tribeballs and defeated Slavsball on behalf of Byzantineball.

By 562 Avarball controlled the lower Danube, in 567 it made an alliance with Lombardsball to fight Gepidsball, eventually Avarball subjugated Gepidsball, and then persuated Lombardsball to invade northern Italyball, leading to the establishment of Kingdom of the Lombardsball.

Continuing their successful policy of turning the various tribeballs against each other Byzantineball persuaded Avarball to attack Slavballs living in Scythia Minorball. After devastating much of Slavsball's lands Avarball returned to Pannoniaball after many of it's subjects defected to Byzantine Empireball.
