The September 11th attacks, commonly known as 9/11 was a group of coordinated suicide attacks by Al-Qaedaball on the Twin Towers of World Trade Center, as well as the Pentagon and either the White House or Capitol Hill. The most infamous part of the attacks was the collapse of the Twin Towers in
New York Cityball (WTC 1 and WTc 2), as well as the consequent collapse of WTC 7 and the destruction of pretty much the entire World Trade Center.. There are many conspiracy theories about it. Four passenger planes were hijacked by 19
Al-Qaeda terrorists. 2 planes, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, crashed into the Twin Towers. Within an hour and 42 minutes, both towers had collapsed, with the flying debris damaging nearby buildings. American Airlines Flight 77 was directed towards the Pentagon and crashed there, and United Airlines Flight 93 was aimed towards
Washington DCball, but the passengers unsuccessfully attempted to regain control of the plane, and the plane instead crashed into a field in
Pennsylvaniaball killing all on-board. 2,996 people died that were in the towers/planes.
Almost 3,000 people died in total. It was a huge tactical success for Al-Qaeda, but 9/11 is one of main causes of war on terror which had severe consequences for Al-Qaeda's actions.
After 9/11, it took about 8 months to clear the rubble from the World Trade Center in New York. In the spot of the original Twin Towers are two memorial pools with waterfalls. Below ground is the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Above ground is the new 1WTC, also called Freedom Tower, which at 1,776 feet tall (to represent the year USABall became independent) is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Also at the site is WTC 7, the Oculus WTC Transportation Hub, WTC 3, WTC 4, and WTC 2, if they decide to rebuild it.
